It's been a funky Friday. We're seeing some garden-variety consolidation with a clear underbid by the market elephants. Buyers are focused on steel, paper, and electronics. Retailers, automakers, precious metals and the mortgage lenders are trading lower.

It hasn't been the most productive of weeks here at the trading turret, but I have to admit like many of you I'm very much looking forward to a weekend of rest and relaxation. In Minnesota that means sitting by the fire, watching a good movie or two on DVD, and getting my mind off the market. After all, there's going to be plenty of interesting trading days ahead if I'm right.
