  - A Chart or Two...
at 2006-01-23 19:44:24

I just ran though my scans and didn't see as many interesting charts as I thought I would. I've added quite a few to both my long and short watchilists. Since most stocks still haven't reported earnings I don't want to comment on them. But here are a few charts that I thought were worth noting:

First, I got this email from Paul a

  - January 20, 2006 Stock Market Recap
at 2006-01-23 19:44:24

It's amazing how quickly things can change in the markets. What looked like a great start to the year has quickly turned to false breakouts on the major indices. I went from lamenting the fact that I went to cash before my vacation to being quite content to be sitting on the sidelines. I suspect we ma

at 2006-01-23 19:44:24

A good day for the bulls today although I have to wonder how much the bad Nasdaq data contributed to the intraday strength. I especially like the action in the S&P as it broke its downtrend on increasing volume today. Still, I can't put too much 'stock' in any technical patterns

  - Watchlist for January 19, 2006
at 2006-01-23 19:44:24

Given that we're so close to options expiration I'll be playing real light, if at all, today. My focus will be on stocks that are moving on (big) news and may avoid being pinned to the obvious strikes.

I continue to be amazed at the differing opinions on AMD. It seems that every day some analyst downgrades it and another upgrades it. That happened again today with a Goldman downgrad
